Class 1 Driver - Equipment Transport

Pentagon Farm Centre is a farm equipment dealership with four locations in Central Alberta. We are currently hiring an experienced Class 1 Driver to work out of our Lacombe location, transporting agricultural equipment throughout Central Alberta.

This is a full-time, year-round position for an experienced professional driver who takes pride in their equipment, works safely and independently, and is comfortable loading, securing, transporting, and unloading agricultural equipment.

What Does the Position Involve?

Our Class 1 Driver is responsible for transporting new, used, and customer-owned agricultural equipment between our dealerships, customer farms, and other locations throughout Central Alberta.

This position involves more than simply driving. You will be responsible for safely loading and unloading equipment, properly securing loads, inspecting equipment before transport, completing required documentation, and representing Pentagon Farm Centre when dealing with our customers.

You must be comfortable operating a variety of agricultural equipment in order to safely load and unload machinery.

The driver is also responsible for taking care of the truck and trailer and performing basic maintenance such as oil changes and regular inspections.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid Class 1 driver's licence with a clean driving record; driver's abstract required

  • Minimum 5 years of professional Class 1 driving experience

  • Experience transporting agricultural or heavy equipment is a strong asset

  • Experience operating agricultural equipment is an asset

  • Comfortable loading and unloading a variety of agricultural equipment

  • Strong understanding of load securement and safe transportation practices

  • Knowledge of provincial Hours of Service requirements

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification is required; we are willing to provide training if necessary

  • Mechanically inclined and willing to perform basic maintenance on the truck and trailer, including oil changes

  • Physically capable of completing the requirements of the position, including climbing on equipment and trailers and handling chains, binders, straps, and other load-securement equipment
